As you may have guessed from the name, Oriole Park at Camden Yards is the home of Major League Baseball’s Baltimore Orioles. The ballpark opened in 1992 and is one of two sports arenas in the Camden Yards Sports Complex along with M&T Bank Stadium (home to the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens).

Here, we’ve laid out a list of the betting opportunities at Oriole Park, as well as the entertainment and dining options in the complex.

Oriole Park is typically shortened in name to “Camden Yards,” but to avoid confusion with the complex as a whole, we’ve simplified the terminology to specifically refer to the baseball venue.

About Oriole Park in Maryland

Oriole Park at Camden Yards opened in 1992 to replace the Baltimore Orioles’ previous home venue, Memorial Stadium. The ballpark has been largely funded by Maryland taxpayers, with $1.3 billion in construction costs so far offset by taxpayer dollars; the Orioles asked for another $600 million to continue stadium renovation efforts.

The biggest motivation for investment into building Oriole Park was the fear of losing the baseball team after the Baltimore Colts departed for Indianapolis in 1984. Construction plans began almost immediately, though it took until 1989 before workers broke ground on construction.

Oriole Park has a capacity of 49,828, though standing-room-only areas could push the number over 50,000. Since opening, it has hosted the third-most fans of any MLB stadium, trailing Yankee Stadium in New York and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

Aside from MLB games, Oriole Park has hosted many concerts. It was also the site of a Papal Mass in 1995 when Pope John Paul II visited Baltimore.

Can you bet on sports at Oriole Park in MD?

Yes, you can bet on sports at Oriole Park in MD. Due to the partnership with SuperBook Sportsbook (more on that below), visitors to Oriole Park will be able to visit the SuperBook Lounge and engage in MD sports betting before, during, and after home games.

Additionally, you’ll be able to wager using the SuperBook Sportsbook mobile app if you’re unable to get into the betting lounge. The app is free to download on iOS and Android devices, and account registration takes 10 minutes or less.

Oriole Park and SuperBook Sportsbook partnership

The Orioles signed a deal in August 2022 making SuperBook Sportsbook MD an official gambling partner. SuperBook is based out of Nevada; it is also live in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, New Jersey, Ohio, and Tennessee.

Though SuperBook hasn’t seen the same betting handle as other Maryland sportsbooks, its 5.13% hold percentage is the lowest of any online MD operator. The partnership with the Orioles will likely continue to help spur sports gambling account signups.

Does Oriole Park have other types of gambling?

No, Oriole Park does not have other types of gambling. Given MLB’s complicated history with sports betting, it is somewhat surprising the league approved the construction of a sports betting facility inside the ballpark.

If you’re looking for table games, slot machines, or poker rooms, you’ll need to go to one of Maryland’s retail casinos. Online casino gambling is prohibited under state law.
