Meanwhile, the Cavaliers hope to end a two-game losing streak after successive losses to Milwaukee and Toronto.

Join me as I break this one down with a free MD sports betting prediction for Wizards vs. Cavaliers on Wednesday, January 3.

Wizards vs. Cavaliers Preview

The Washington Wizards would be the worst team in the NBA Eastern Conference if it weren’t for the Detroit Pistons. Washington is 6-26, has dropped seven of their last 10, and headed nowhere fast.

The Wizards don’t have any injury concerns whatsoever they are just a lousy team with a 3-15 away record, but they are 6-3-1 ATS over their last five and 11-7-0 ATS as the away this season.

Unlike Washington, Cleveland does have injury concerns of their own. Leading rebounder Evan Mobley is out until mid-January, and point guard Darius Garland is out for the foreseeable future with a broken jaw.

Cleveland is 9-8 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse and 7-9-0 ATS in the wine and gold but 3-2-0 ATS at home over their last five.

Wizards vs. Cavaliers Best Bet

The Cavaliers are hurting on both ends of the floor. Luckily for them the hapless Wizards and their 3-15 away record rolls into town.

Cleveland missing two starters should hurt their scoring and their bench but the Cavs scored 121 points Sunday at Toronto and the bench scored 55 fueled by 31 Caris LeVert points. LeVert is a nice player but no one should expect him to score like this every night.

Washington has an awful record but they can score the rock. They average 116 points per game in the visitors jersey but 13.8 turnovers per game and allowing nearly 127 points per game isn’t a recipe for success on the road.

Cleveland when healthy boasts a top 10 scoring defense but over their last 10 have allowed 117 points per game overall and 121 points per game over their last 10 home matchups at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

The Cavaliers are 9-9.5 favorites in this game but as we’ve seen, they don’t cover the spread at home and they are missing two starters against a Wizards offense that can score buckets.

Washington is ninth in away scoring and is 3-0-1 ATS in their last four away matchups; they don’t play much defense but the Cavs offense is slighly above average when healthy and health is something they don’t currently enjoy. Take the +9.5 and go with the improving Wizards to cover the spread on Wednesday.

My best bet: Washington +9.5 (-115) at ESPN BET Maryland
