Orioles vs. Rangers: Predictions, Best Bets & Odds for Tuesday Game 3 ALDS

The Baltimore Orioles have won the final game to avoid an away sweep six times this season. They need another similar result when they face elimination in Game 3 of their American League Divisional Series matchup against the Texas Rangers.

Righty Dean Kremer (13-5, 4.12) is expected to make the start for Baltimore. His counterpart is scheduled to be righty Nathan Eovaldi (12-5, 3.63) for the 8:03 pm ET matchup at Globe Life Park.

Can the Orioles stave off elimination? Find out when we give our best bet and prediction for Orioles vs. Rangers on Tuesday, October 10.

Orioles Must Win Situation

The Orioles are in a must-win situation on Tuesday, but the good thing for them is that they won 58% of their games this season as the away underdog and tied with Atlanta for the most away wins during the regular season.

Baltimore has hit the ball well during the playoffs. During the playoffs, they are 3rd in batting average and scoring five runs per game. The Orioles have cracked three home runs but have averaged seven strikeouts per game against the Texas pitching staff.

Dean Kremer (13-5, 4.12) is expected to make the start for the Birds Tuesday night, and he’s allowed nine earned runs over his previous five starts and eight earned runs over his previous 28 away innings with an away ERA of 3.73 and xFIP of 4.33.

Texas Hot at the Right Time

Texas winning two consecutive away games in this series was huge for them. They now have to win just one of the next three games, and they will earn the right to play the winner of the Houston Astros/Minnesota Twins.

The Rangers are 4-0 on this playoff run and have scored 25 runs through their first four contests. They’ve scored the most runs during the playoffs with the second-highest batting average with the second-most strikeouts.

Nathan Eovaldi (12-5, 3.63) is expected to make the start Tuesday night. Over his past five starts, the Rangers righthander has yielded 20 earned runs over the last 20 ⅔ frames on the bump. Eovaldi has allowed a dozen earned runs over his last 19 ⅔ innings at Globe Life Field with a 3.70 ERA and 3.90 xFIP.

Orioles vs. Rangers Best Bet at FanDuel

The Orioles weren’t swept in a series once this season, and my best bet is for Baltimore to win this game (+120) at FanDuel Sportsbook Maryland.

Baltimore was one of the winningest away teams in baseball, and with their season on the line, they have their ace on the hill, and Kremer will deliver.

The Orioles are 8-5 when Kremer pitches wearing the away jersey, and he’s striking out nearly nine with less than three walks and 1.16 bombs per nine away frames. He’s pitched pretty well down the stretch and pitched the playoff as well as the AL East division clincher.

Kremer has had over 10 days between starts and should be fresh and ready to go against the best-hitting team against righties this season.

Eovaldi has pitched well this season and won in the Wild Card round against Tampa Bay. Texas is 8-4 when Eovaldi pitches at home, but the Rangers righty has allowed a dozen earned runs over his previous 19 ⅔ frames at Globe Life Park. Baltimore can score runs in bunches, and Eovaldi’s home xFIP being higher than his home ERA gives us a good reason to believe Tuesday might not be Eovaldi’s night.

Finally, the Orioles are the best underdog in baseball and have won six away games to avoid a sweep this season and will continue that trend on Tuesday. Take the Orioles +120 at FanDuel.
