Fanatics Sportsbook officially begins its venture into the Maryland betting market when its retail sportsbook opens at FedEx Field. Fanatics is now the 1st sportsbook in the country to open a retail sportsbook in an NFL stadium.

The news comes on the heels of Maryland reporting an online December handle of $478.2 million during its first month of operations. Fanatics has the licenses for online wagering, but Fanatics hasn’t announced when the app, Fanatics, will be live.

Fanatics joins BetMGM, FanDuel, Caesars, TwinSpires, Barstool Sportsbook, BetRivers, and PointsBet as the only sportsbooks with retail shops in Maryland.

The sports licensing maverick plans to open the retail sportsbook seven days per week from 10 am to 12 am. The sportsbook will be open during Commanders’ games–NFL Commerical Gambling Policy strictly prohibits customers from making bets during the game, and no action will be taken during Washington football games.

The Washington Commanders home offers Maryland sports bettors an additional professional sports venue to place physical wagers – William Hill operates retail sportsbooks at Capital One Arena (Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals) and Nationals Park (Washington Nationals).

Fanatics becomes the eighth retail sportsbook operating and enters a market that saw an $18.2 million handle during December. BetFred and betParx have planned 2023 retail launches, allowing for more opportunities for Old Line State bettors to enjoy in 2023.
