Miami hasn’t exactly set the world on fire recently and ended a seven-game losing streak of their own with a 115-06 home victory over the Sacramento Kings.
Please join me as I break this one down and share my best free NBA picks and prop bets for the Heat vs Wizards on Friday, February 2.
Heat vs. Wizards Best Bets
Under 233.5 (-110) at DraftKings
The best play on the board is Under 233.5 points at DraftKings Maryland. Miami is one of the best defensive teams in basketball and meets a Washington squad with a 2-8-0 Over/Under record to the Under over their last 10 ballgames.
Washington has some injury concerns they are dealing with, but they can score the rock. The Wizards are the fastest-playing team in the NBA, but the problem is they meet the second slowest-paced NBA group, and the Wizards aren’t experienced enough to dictate the tempo.
The Heat surrenders a league-best 108.5 points per game as the away team this season and meets a Washington offense that illnesses to guards Jordan Poole and Landry Shamet have weakened. Look for Miami to flex its defensive muscles and look to continue their one-game winning streak.
Jimmy Butler Under 22.5 points (-114) at FanDuel
Jimmy Butler is Miami’s leading scorer and has eclipsed this mark in three of his last five, but away Butler is a less-scoring Butler, and this price for this scoring prop at FanDuel Maryland is a dandy.
Butler logs nearly three minutes less per game and averages 19.2 points in the visitors’ jersey per contest. That’s three points fewer than his season average on fewer shot attempts per game. With the Heat so heavily favored, he may not play enough minutes nor need to score for Miami to beat the hapless Wizards.
Terry Rozier Over 1.5 turnovers (+130) at ESPN BET
Terry Rozier has been a welcome addition to a Heat team with scoring issues. Rozier is an aggressive scoring guard who sometimes gets ahead of himself and doesn’t always care for the rock.
Rozier has been with Miami for five games and has multiple turnover nights in two of them. One of those was an away matchup, and I expect that trend to continue Friday night at Washington.
Rozier has committed multiple turnovers in five of his last eight, and playing in a hostile environment like Capital One Arena will likely lead to Rozier’s third consecutive multiple-turnover contest in the road laundry.
